May 2026 - Firefighters have issued another urgent safety check warning to UK residents about 85,000 faulty tumble dryers. Warnings have been issued by the Fire and Rescue Service about Haier-manufactured tumble dryers (Friday, May 1).

Affected brands include Baumatic, Candy, Caple, Haier, Hoover, Iberna, Lamona and Montpellier.

Housing associations, councils and all landlords can check appliances against registers but this is often not easy due to worn or difficult to read model numbers on the appliances and the scale of the task at hand.
