There’s been a barrage of anecdotal reports of people being struck down with flu or coronavirus-like symptoms, but many testing negative for the virus.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) are reporting increased levels of influenza and related to this, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Another bug that’s going around too – Norovirus, a stomach bug that can cause vomiting and diarrhoea, aches, high temperatures and headaches, with the UKHSA reporting that outbreaks started in educational settings and have become worse in care homes.
Coronavirus is still rife and with the Omicron BA.1 and BA.2 variants, the latter proving to be inherently more transmissible, it is important we continue to protect the elderly and more vulnerable.
