CLM discuss… How do we protect the elderly and more vulnerable as UKHSA confirm more people are being struck down with flu or coronavirus-like symptoms, but many testing negative for the virus?

There’s been a barrage of anecdotal reports of people being struck down with flu or coronavirus-like symptoms, but many testing negative for the virus.

Winter may have finally come to an end but it seems as though many of us are getting ill at the moment – and not necessarily with Covid.

Doctors are reporting an increase in people coming in with flu or cold-like symptoms, far higher than usual for
this time of year but it’s likely with mixing without barriers again, people are mixing and spreading bugs that they haven’t seen for a while. We’ve been protected from that over the past few years and our immune systems are not quite used to it.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) are reporting increased levels of influenza and related to this, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Another bug that’s going around too – Norovirus, a stomach bug that can cause vomiting and diarrhoea, aches, high temperatures and headaches, with the UKHSA reporting that outbreaks started in educational settings and have become worse in care homes.

Coronavirus is still rife and with the Omicron BA.1 and BA.2 variants, the latter proving to be inherently more transmissible, it is important we continue to protect the elderly and more vulnerable.

CLM’s Pro 20 Ozone sanitiser provides a significant part of the solution. The UK’s most powerful mobile sanitising unit, manufactured here in Britain provides the most effective solution to sanitisation within Housing, Care, Healthcare and any settings where our elderly and most vulnerable maybe present.

The CLM range of mobile ozone sanitisers will eliminate bacteria, viruses and harmful microorganisms such as MRSA, Norovirus, E.Coli, Salmonella and C.difficile, as well as Coronavirus and also neutralises unpleasant odours where filters, ionisers and sprays can only mask them.

Tested at Porton Down by DARSA and DTSL the CLM range has been found to be part of a winning solution under a collaboration between the Small Business Research Initiative and the NHS.
